JADOCAM Installation Guide

Most JADOCAM mirror dash cams install in 15–30 minutes with no special tools. Follow these six steps.

Before you start

  • Park in a shaded area with the engine off — you'll be working at the windshield
  • You'll need a microfiber cloth (included) and a glass cleaner
  • For hardwire installation (parking monitor), you'll also need our hardwire kit, a fuse tap, and a multimeter or test light

Step 1 — Insert the SD card

Format the included SD card in the camera (Settings → Format SD Card) before first use. Always format new cards in-camera, never on a computer — this ensures the file system is optimized for continuous video recording.

Step 2 — Mount the mirror

Slip the two adjustable rubber straps over your factory rear-view mirror, position the JADOCAM mirror on top, and tighten the straps. The mirror should sit flush and not rock. Tilt the screen down slightly so you see the road, not the headliner.

Step 3 — Route the front-power cable

Run the 12V power cable along the headliner from the mirror toward the passenger A-pillar, then down the pillar (tuck behind the weatherstripping) and across the dashboard to the cigarette lighter socket. The cable is generous; tuck excess slack behind the glovebox.

Step 4 — Install the rear camera

Clean the inside of the rear windshield. Peel the adhesive backing from the rear-camera mount and press firmly for 30 seconds. Run the rear-camera cable along the headliner from the rear, over to one side, down the C-pillar, along the floor or under the door sills, up the A-pillar, and into the mirror's rear-cam port.

Step 5 — Power up and configure

Start the car. The dash cam will boot in under 5 seconds. Set the time zone, date format, and resolution from the on-screen menu — or pair to the JADOCAM app and configure from your phone. Verify the front and rear preview both look correct.

Step 6 — Optional: hardwire for parking monitor

If you want parking-monitor mode, replace the cigarette-lighter cable with our hardwire kit. The kit's red wire connects to an always-on 12V fuse, the yellow wire to an ACC (ignition-switched) fuse, and the black wire to chassis ground. The hardwire kit includes a low-voltage cutoff to protect your starter battery. See the hardwire-kit manual for details.
