Installation

How long does installation take?

Most JADOCAM mirror dash cams install in 15–30 minutes using the included rubber straps and the existing 12V cigarette-lighter cable. No professional installer is required. If you want to power the camera from the fuse box (cleaner wiring + parking monitor support), you'll need our hardwire kit, which takes about an hour to install.

Do I need a hardwire kit?

You only need a hardwire kit if you want parking-monitor mode (the camera records while the car is off). For normal driving recording, the included cigarette-lighter cable is enough. The hardwire kit is sold separately and connects to your fuse box to draw a small standby current.

Will the mirror dash cam fit my car?

Yes for virtually any passenger vehicle. JADOCAM mirror dash cams mount over your factory rear-view mirror using two adjustable rubber straps. They fit mirrors from approximately 8 cm to 30 cm wide. If your factory mirror is unusually large (some pickup trucks and RVs), email us first and we'll confirm.

Where should the rear camera go?

Most drivers mount the rear camera centered on the inside of the rear windshield, just below the heated-defrost line, with the cable routed along the headliner and down the A-pillar. The included cable is 6 meters, enough for most sedans, SUVs, and pickups.

Recording & features

What resolution does the front camera record at?

Depends on the model. Our 4K models (D18, G810+, G810 PRO, G850+) record at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps. Our 2.5K models (G100S, G810S PLUS) record at 2560×1440 @ 30 fps. All models use Sony Starvis-class sensors with WDR for high dynamic range.

How long does the camera record before overwriting?

Loop recording overwrites the oldest files when the SD card fills up. With a 64 GB card (included with most models), you get roughly 4–6 hours of continuous 4K footage before loop-over. Locked event files (triggered by G-sensor or manual button) are protected from overwriting.

What does parking-monitor mode actually do?

When the engine is off, the camera enters a low-power mode and watches for impact, motion, or vibration. When triggered, it records a short clip (typically 30–60 seconds before and after the event) and saves it as a locked file. Parking-monitor mode requires the hardwire kit so the camera can draw power from the fuse box.

Does it work at night?

Yes. Sony Starvis-class sensors are tuned for low-light performance, and our cameras use WDR (wide dynamic range) to handle high-contrast scenes like oncoming headlights. License plates remain readable in most night-driving conditions.

Does it have GPS?

Yes — every JADOCAM dash cam includes a built-in GPS receiver. Speed, location, and timestamp are embedded in each clip and can be played back in our JADOCAM Player desktop software.

How does CarPlay work on a mirror dash cam?

Our CarPlay-enabled models (G100S, G100 PRO, G810S PLUS) include a built-in CarPlay/Android Auto receiver. Connect your iPhone over Bluetooth + Wi-Fi (or USB on some models), and your phone's CarPlay interface — navigation, music, calls, messages — appears on the mirror screen.

Which cars support CarPlay through a JADOCAM mirror?

Virtually any car with a working iPhone. The mirror replaces the screen, not the car's head unit, so it works whether or not your car has factory CarPlay. See our CarPlay compatibility page for tested vehicles.

Why won't my phone connect over Wi-Fi?

The dash cam broadcasts its own Wi-Fi access point (the SSID starts with "JADO_"). You need to join that network from your phone's Wi-Fi settings before launching the app. Your phone won't have internet while connected to the dash cam — that's normal. Disconnect when done to return to your regular Wi-Fi.

How long is the warranty?

Every JADOCAM dash cam carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in materials and workmanship. See our warranty page for full terms.

What if I lost my receipt?

If you bought directly from jadocam.com, we have your order on file — just email us your name or shipping address. If you bought from an authorized reseller, please supply that receipt; if you can't locate it, contact us and we'll do our best.

What's the return window?

30 days from delivery, no questions asked, on any new and unopened product. Used products are accepted if defective. See our return policy for full details.
